Swaddle Up™ FAQs

Why Swaddle Up™?
Medical research suggests that swaddling is beneficial in helping newborns to sleep better. Swaddling a baby may calm their 'startle reflex' which wakes them up & disturbs their sleep. Our patented, award-winning Swaddle Up™ helps baby to settle quickly & establish a peaceful sleep routine. Importantly, it completely removes the need for loose blankets in the cot/crib, making it a safer option for babies.Unlike traditional swaddles that keep a baby's arms by their side or across their chest, the unique Arms Up design of our Swaddle Up™ has patented wings that allow a baby to sleep in their natural Arms Up position. This means your baby can easily touch their face & suck on their hands & fingers for true self-soothing.
What is self-soothing?
A natural way babies settle themselves to sleep is by sucking on their hands or gently rubbing their cheeks. This is called self-soothing. This hand sucking can also help develop mouth muscles which aid in feeding, speech development & their natural rooting reflex. Swaddle Up™ has been designed to allow babies to safely suck on their hands for self-soothing.SELF-SOOTHING = MORE SLEEP
Why Arms Up?
Swaddle Up™ is specifically designed to let your baby sleep in a natural Arms Up position. This allows them to bring their hands to mouth for self-soothing during sleep time, resulting in more sleep for everyone.
What is a TOG?
TOG stands for Thermal Overall Grade and is an industry-recognised measurement for the warmth of garments and bedding. Put simply: The lower the TOG rating, the lighter the fabric. The higher the TOG rating, the warmer the fabric. Love to Dream's temperature-based rating below simplifies the process of choosing the right garments:Products with a Warm Temperature Rating are ideal for Room Temperatures from 24-27°C. Our "Lite" Summer Garments are best suited for this temperature range.Products with a Moderate Temperature Rating are ideal for Room Temperatures from 20-24°C. Our "Moderate" Garments are best suited for this temperature range. Products with a Mild Temperature Rating are ideal for Room Temperatures between 18-24°C. Our “Mild” Garments are best suited for this temperature range.Products with a Cool Temperature Rating are ideal for Room Temperatures between 16-20°C. Our "Warm" Winter Garments are best suited for this temperature range.
What size Swaddle Up™ should I buy?
For best fit result please select your Swaddle Up™ sizing according to your child's weight not their age.The Swaddle Up™ range is available in four sizes: Newborn (Suitable for 5-8.5lbs), Small (Suitable for 8-13lbs), Medium (Suitable for 13-19lbs) & Large (Suitable for 19-25lbs).
How many Swaddle Up™ swaddles do I need?
We recommend that you purchase at least two Swaddle Up™ swaddles in the appropriate size. If you own two, then one can be in the wash while your baby is wearing the other one. It might even be helpful to consider having a third on hand to use in case of emergencies
